Come to the next Kiss & Make Up

I spent the first few months of the Nineties in a Portakabin in Carmarthen and the final few hours of 1999 in The Star Inn in Llanelli, watching the telly, which was showing a bit of the Manics leaving the twentieth century at their enormous Millennium Stadium gig. In between there was a whole lot of music. The next Kiss & Make Up will be trying to cover as much of it as possible. Please come along. We hope it will be ace. And if you have any requests, please let us know. And, re. the buffet, what would be a particularly '90s-style of food?
(Apologies to Julian Opie and Blur's first best of for the poster).

Where are you between?

Super Furry Animals at Somerset House last night. No, Gruff – thank you. The rain held off and it was a great gig. They performed a lovely Welsh song called Blerwytirhwng, the translation of which is the title of this post. There's no video of that song on Youtube, so instead, have this – 1997 single The International Language Of Screaming.

"It's not where you're from
It's not where you're at
It's not where you've been
It's where you're between"

For the win

Cheers to Steven at Gym Class Magazine for mentioning Kiss & Make Up on the magazine's very nice new website.
What's Gym Class Magazine? Well, in their own words:

"Gym Class Magazine is a zine for the guy chosen last. What does that mean? Well, it’s a zine for the underdog, the black sheep. Remember your high school gym class? The bit where two kids were made captain and took turns choosing who they wanted on their team? Well, Gym Class Magazine is a zine for the guy chosen last.

It's for geeks, nerds and nellys; definitely not for guys into dodgeball.

Instead, we like more creative stuff… like drawing and illustration, indie magazines and comics, scary movies and sci-fi, graphic design and typography, electronic music and tall buildings."

Great. The new issue is just about coming out now. We've ordered our copy and can't wait for it to arrive. You can buy issues 1 to 3 in the GCM shop here and while you're there, why not pick up some "Chosen Last" badges too? We like badges.
